A brittle, invasive and unwanted tree, According to Plan is a poetic Southern Gothic short film that unveils the tangled legacy of this once-beloved tree species. Through a hybrid of direct 16mm animation, time lapse cinematography, archival elements and interviews, the film follows the Bradford pear’s journey from a landscape darling to an ecological pariah.
